Our Koala Room is a welcoming and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to become confident, capable and curious learners. At this age, children are developing their personalities, friendships, communication skills and growing independence.

Our program provides a balance of child-led play, intentional teaching, exploration and meaningful experiences, allowing every child to learn in ways that reflect their interests, strengths and individual development.

Learning Through Play

Play is an essential part of children's learning. Our educators create engaging experiences that encourage children to investigate, experiment, imagine, problem-solve and make discoveries.

Through construction, dramatic play, sensory experiences, puzzles, games and open-ended resources, children develop important cognitive, social and creative skills.

Curious & Capable Learners

We encourage children to ask questions, share ideas and explore how things work. Educators extend children's thinking through thoughtful conversations, questions and hands-on experiences. Whether children are investigating nature, experimenting with water, building a tower or exploring numbers, every experience becomes an opportunity to learn.

Creativity & Self-Expression

Children have many opportunities to express their ideas through art, music, movement, drama, storytelling and imaginative play.We encourage children to explore different materials and techniques while celebrating their individual creativity. The focus is on the process of creating, discovering and expressing ideas rather than producing a “perfect” result.

Language & Communication

We support children to become confident communicators by providing opportunities to talk, listen, ask questions, tell stories and express their thoughts and feelings. Through books, group discussions, songs, rhymes, storytelling and everyday conversations, children build vocabulary, confidence and early literacy skills.

Friendships & Emotional Development

As children develop stronger friendships, we support them to understand emotions, cooperate with others, negotiate, take turns and resolve everyday challenges. Our educators help children develop empathy, kindness, resilience and respect, while encouraging them to express their feelings in positive and meaningful ways.

Early Mathematics & STEM

Everyday experiences provide opportunities to explore early mathematical and STEM concepts. Children investigate numbers, counting, patterns, shapes, measurement, sorting, building, problem-solving and simple scientific concepts through hands-on play.Learning becomes meaningful when children can touch it, test it, question it and discover it for themselves.

Connecting with Nature

Our outdoor learning experiences encourage children to explore the natural world. Gardening, collecting natural materials, observing insects, caring for plants and investigating the environment help children develop curiosity and respect for nature.

Building Identity & Belonging

We celebrate each child's unique identity, family, culture, interests and experiences. Children are encouraged to share their stories, traditions and ideas while learning to appreciate and respect the diversity of others.

Preparing for the Next Step

Our 3–4 Years program supports children to develop the foundations they need for their next stage of learning. We focus on confidence, independence, communication, social skills, emotional wellbeing, curiosity and a positive attitude towards learning. We want every child to feel proud of who they are and excited about what they can discover next.
